My very first game and my submission to the Go Godot Jam 4
It's a "bullet hell" game in which you can only go up and down to dodge. The goal is simply to survive the longest (no leader-boards, sorry)

The theme was "less is more", so I made a game featuring "Jess and Morbe". Jess is a simple protagonist that can be controlled with only one button, while Morbe is an undead vampire that will shoot lots and lots of bullets on his enemies. Which one of them will have the best strategy to survive?
(Yes, Morbe is a reference to Morbius, don't judge me...)

Excepting musics and sound effects, this little game was only made by me in 1.5 - 2 days, even tho the Jam was active for 10 days, because TimeManagement.exe has stopped responding

Musics: Free musics from Juhani Junkala (SubspaceAudio) https://opengameart.org/content/5-chiptunes-action

Sound effects: Free sounds from "bart" https://opengameart.org/content/8-bit-platformer-sfx

Post-mortem

(Personally, I don't think I should have submitted this game in this condition. It's way too simple for it's own good. The goal of a Game Jam is the fun and the feed-back, but all I got were advice on basic stuff that I already knew about, because there's nothing else to say about this game. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think my knowledge of game design is higher than my game making skill. Couple that with the fact I only gave myself barely 2 days to do it and I think I can say this game doesn't represent what I should be able to create at this point of my life. I know this is not the place to write this kind of stuff, but I don't really care about this project anymore, despite it being barely 2 days old. I leave this here to make potential readers understand that forcing yourself to publish something isn't necessarily the good way to follow. Sometime, you need to practice for yourself until you're no longer able to easily pinpoint your own basic mistakes and how to fix them immediately. To conclude, I reject this game from my portfolio, but I won't unlist it, because that's a coward move. It was really good practice, I had fun making it and playing it for myself, but it's still a game I could and should have made when I was 16. Next Year will be better!)
